Alvie Maddox September 22, 1933 - April 12, 2023

Alvie Maddox, also known as Austin Miles, was a man whose life was full of adventure, accomplishments, and callings to the ministry of Jesus Christ.

Alvie was a talented magician, whose passion for magic started in his childhood. He went on to perform at local events and eventually pursued a career in entertainment. His love for magic remained with him throughout his life.

Apart from performing magic, Alvie had a deep connection with the circus. He joined one at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks from clown to become ringmaster. He was known for his love for animals and became an advocate for animal rights.

Alvie’s talents in entertainment extended beyond the circus. He had a successful career in movies, TV shows, and commercials, showcasing his skills as an announcer and narrator. During this time he took the professional name of Austin Miles. Some of his notable roles include Secret Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus, Mack & Meyer for Hire, and Ancient Secrets of the Bible. His captivating voice and ability to hold an audience’s attention made him a sought-after performer. He cherished his time as a professional dancer the most.

Despite his success in entertainment, Alvie remained grounded in his faith. He worked to spread the word of God throughout his life and was called to serve the ministry of Jesus. He also served his country in the military and was proud of his service. He pastored a church for a few years and provided chaplain services for many years.

Alvie also had a passion for education and served as a teacher, mentor, and professor throughout his life. He later founded a ministry that trains chaplains and provided chaplain services for many years. Reverend Austin Mile’s desire to help others and spread the word of God led him to establish this important ministry, which has continued to impact countless lives. Through his work, Alvie touched the hearts of many and left a lasting legacy.

He believed the family was the most important part of life and strived to take care of every member. There was nothing he would not do for his family. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley Miles, two daughters, Lori (Bill) Jarema and Cathy Tabbi, stepsons, Michael Teeter and Shawn (Armida) Teeter, grandchildren Michael (Serena) Teeter Jr, Brandon (Amber) Teeter, Jack Narbut Jr, and Melanie (Ben) Kenny, and great-grandchildren Jayden, Liam, Neil, Michael III, and Claire.

Alvie Maddox was a man of many talents and accomplishments, but above all, he was a loving husband, father, papa and friend. His legacy will live on through his many achievements and the impact he made on the lives of those who knew him.

A committal service will be held on May 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Idaho Statesman Veterans Cemetery located 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Road Boise, Idaho.
