It is with a tear and a smile, we announce Aileen “Scotty” Scott passing on September 10, 2021. A tear for the memories and time she shared with us during her life and a smile because she was ready to meet our Heavenly Father.
Scotty was born in Jordan Valley, Oregon. Her childhood days were spent in Portland, Oregon. In the early 1940’s the Scott family moved to Jordan Valley, Oregon. Upon graduating from Jordan Valley High School, Scotty was hired by Pitney Bowes in Boise, Idaho, as an Administrative Assistant. She retired from PB’s many years later.
Scotty was an avid snow and water skier. She enjoyed a good game of cards, and a lot of games of golf. In addition, many memorable hours were spent helping her father (Hugh), mother (Dorothy) and sister (Dorothy) with their Idaho horse racing adventures.
What was most dear to Scotty, was her Catholic faith and her Catholic community. She was pure of heart and practiced her faith in her daily living. She was a caretaker to her mother and father as they aged, and to her nephew Tom as a young child. She was a mentor to many by both example and words of wisdom. Scotty could be witty, and when coupled with an endearing smile, she brought joy into your life.
Aileen was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Hugh Scott, her sisters Maxine Telleria, Theresa Maher, Betty Scott, and her brothers Henry and Gilbert Scott. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Gough, and many nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her niece Ike Cress and nephew Robert Telleria for their loving care in ushering Aileen “Scotty” into the Lord’s hands.
In lieu of flowers, please extend a helping hand to another in remembrance of Aileen “Scotty” Scott.
