In Loving Memory of Zuleyka Aracely Angulo
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Zuleyka, who left us on July 18, 2024, in Star, Idaho, from a car accident on her way home, at the age of just 17. Zuleyka was born on February 11, 2007, in Boise, Idaho, and brought joy and light into the lives of all who knew her. Her radiant smile, kind heart, and vibrant spirit will be forever cherished by her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Zuleyka was a dedicated student at Boise High School and was eagerly anticipating her senior year as captain of both the wrestling and rugby teams. As a junior, she reached the State level in wrestling and was honored and lettered for Varsity. She received several awards, including the Heart of the Brave Award and the Grittiest Female Wrestler of 2023-24. Her passion for sports, combined with her natural leadership skills, made her an inspiring figure among her peers. Beyond her athletic achievements, Zuzu was known for her compassionate nature, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word.
Being the firstborn, Zuzu naturally possessed a gift for leadership and had an exceptional ability to let those around her shine. She was everyone’s biggest cheerleader, taking great pride and joy in the achievements of others. Zuleyka deeply appreciated the support of her family, who always made time to watch her compete in the activities she loved. She delighted in sharing her passions with others, whether through her photography skills by offering to take senior portraits for her classmates or by giving away her canvas paintings.
She had a light spirit and didn’t take much too seriously. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her friends and family, especially if there was good food and snacks involved. Zuzu had a wide circle of good friends with whom she loved spending time. She showed her love by sharing her passions with others, as well as spending her free time at family and friend gatherings, never wasting a moment. She lived life to the fullest and was a great role model for those around her. Zuleyka dreamed of traveling the world, and she will continue to do so as we carry her memory with us everywhere we go.
Zuleyka was preceded in death by her father, Odlanyer Angulo. She is survived by her loving mother, Sandra, and her wife, Jenny Bledsoe, and her cherished siblings, Alessandra, Ayla, Zayn, Ariah, Lucca, Vado, and Anastasia Angulo. Zuleyka also leaves behind numerous relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Capital Church, 2760 E. Fairview Ave. in Meridian. Burial will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise.
Though her time with us was far too short, Zuleyka’s legacy of kindness and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
