Wilma Isabelle Packwood Perecz was born in Caldwell, Idaho, in 1933. Wilma attended grade school in Caldwell, through the third grade when the family moved to Arena Valley, near Parma, Idaho, and Wilma finished grade school in Roswell, Idaho. She went on to graduate from Parma High School where Wilma played on the girls’ softball team and was called Willy by her teammates. Wilma grew up in Arena Valley, where the Packwood family farmed next door to the Perecz family. Throughout her childhood Wilma always said that one day she would marry Oscar Perecz, who was 16 years her senior. Wilma and Oscar were married on December 18, 1951, in Rosell, Idaho. Wilma and Oscar began their married life in Arena Valley, where they welcomed their first child, Billy Wayne, in 1953. Later that year, the Perecz family moved to Parma, and in 1954, Wilma and Oscar welcomed their second child, Donna Marie. Wilma worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural route mail carrier for 30 years, retiring in 1993. After retiring, Wilma and Oscar enjoyed their winters in Arizona, and summers in Cascade, Idaho. They especially enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren in Cascade, during the summer months. When Oscar’s health declined they they purchased a home in Garden City, Idaho, where Wilma lived until moving to Grace Assisted Living in Eagle, Idaho. Wilma and Oscar were married for 66 years until Oscar’s passing in 2018 at the age of 101 years. Wilma is survived by her son, Billy, and daughter, Donna, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Wilma is also survived by her sister Frances (Jim) Jefferies, as well as several nieces and nephews. Wilma was predeceased by her sister Betty Anne Wade. A memorial service for Wilma will be at Covenant Presbyterian Church, May 10 at 1pm Boise, Idaho
