William “Bill” M. Inman peacefully passed away in his sleep on October 10, 2024, in his home in Boise, Idaho. Born on August 12, 1948, Bill was known for his wit, intelligence, and compassionate nature; he was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Bill moved from Shreveport, Louisiana to attend the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. He was a proud member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Bill graduated with his Bachelor of Science in 1971 and a Master of Education in 1974. Bill dedicated 33 years to educating and inspiring young minds in the Treasure Valley, from 1974 until his retirement in 2007. Beyond his teaching, he was a passionate coach, contributing significantly to school athletics. Under his guidance, numerous teams achieved district championships, leaving a lasting impact on the community and his students. Bill was adored by students and school staff. After retiring, he continued to substitute teach and assist in coaching his son’s little league football, soccer, and baseball teams. Once Bill stopped coaching, he loved attending his son’s baseball games at Bishop Kelly High School and Boise High School. Bill also cheered on his oldest daughter’s success at his alma mater, the University of Idaho. Bill will forever be loved and missed by his family and all of the students he impacted.
In November of 1990, Bill married Kelly Lloyd of Meridian, Idaho. They were married for 28 years until her passing in 2018. Bill’s life was rich in love and family. He is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn Inman; sons, Ben and Thomas Inman; step-daughters, Ashley Earl and Jordan Jackson; and sisters, Sharon Meader and Sandy Kopper. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kelly Inman, and his parents, Lefty and Hazel Inman.
A memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at the Lake Hazel Middle School main gymnasium on November 9, 2024, at 6 pm. His legacy will continue to influence and inspire, remembered by all who knew him as a guiding force and a caring soul.
