William J. Thompson, 81, of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025.

Bill was born on July 13, 1943, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to William and Bernice Thompson. He was raised in Lehigh Valley and attended Bethlehem High School before continuing his education at East Stroudsburg University. On June 25, 1956, Bill married Francine Pietrantonio, in Philadelphia.

Bill enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a broker and developer. Outside of work, he had a deep passion for the outdoors and could often be found hunting or fishing. He also loved reading and listening to music, with a special interest in military history and jet aircraft—a reflection of his great respect for the armed forces.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Francine Thompson; his children, Jennifer Shalz (Ben), Camille Carlstrom (David), Valerie Santos (Duke), and Bill Thompson (Cassia); and his cherished grandchildren, Marisa and Sophia Shalz, Alex and Nolan Carlstrom, Mariana and Camila Thompson, and Cade and Teague Santos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bernice Thompson.

A committal service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, located at 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, Idaho 83714.
