Obituary

William Christ Froscher a 97-year-old resident of TouchMark in Meridian passed away at his home. He was born April 16, 1929, in Hagerman, Idaho, He spent his formative years attending Tuttle and Hagerman High School. He was the son of William C. Froscher Sr and Josephine (Immenschuh) Froscher and was raised on a farm in Hagerman and was the youngest of 8 children. After graduating from high school Bill joined and was active for 12 years in the National Guard. Bill and his brother opened a gas station in Hagerman and Gooding. When the war broke out, all the National Guard units were being called to serve, Bill and his brother were ready to serve their country and expecting to be leaving as well, so they closed the garage, however, Bill’s unit ended up being the only one that was not called to serve.

At that point, Bill started working for the highway department in Shoshone and was later transferred to Boise. Bill started out as a mechanic and ended his 34-year career writing the specs and buying the equipment for the State of Idaho. Bill met the love of his life, Wynoma Poindexter, at a dance one night, and they have been together for the past 75 years. They were married in Gooding, Idaho December 2, 1950. Their love was a partnership in the truest sense; A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Bill was a man whose life was marked by love, resilience, and a commitment to family. They were blessed with three daughters: Diana Anderson, Christina Bolduc (Mark), & Tammy Froscher, (Kerry Jones), two granddaughter Shawna Anderson, and April Thurnell and two grandsons Scott Thompson, and Trey Berrett and seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Karson, and Bodie Anderson, Stanley, Bailey, Keaton, and Campbell Horn.

Both Bill and Wynoma were devout members of the Red Rock Christian Church. His faith played a significant role in his life, guiding him through his personal and professional endeavors. You couldn’t find a more honest person and a wonderful caregiver to his whole family. He had the rare gift of being able to fix anything. It was a skill known by many, and it allowed him to serve the people of the community in more ways than one. As a perfectionist, he never let anything slide - always fixing or replacing something or tinkering with automobiles.

After Bill retired from the Idaho Transportation Department Bill and Wynoma enjoyed many years of traveling the United States in their RV with all their many friends and dancing groups.

Bill was proceeded in death by his parents, 6 sisters, 1 brother, 4 brother-n-laws, and 1 grandson. He is survived by his wife of 75 years Wynoma Froscher, daughters Diana Anderson, Tina Bolduc (Mark), and Tammy Froscher (Kerry Jones), 1 brother-n- law, 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and 7 great grandchildren. We mourn his passing, but we also celebrate the life he lived.

Services will be on the 2nd of May at 2pm 2026 at the Red Rock Christian Church 1124 S Roosevelt St. Boise, Idaho and live streamed at pastor@redrockchristianchurch.org on youtube.
