William Eugene Edwards Sr.

William (Bill) Edwards, Sr. (February 24, 1934 - March 30, 2026)

Bill was born February 24, 1934 in Bee House, Texas, to Gary (Gramps) and Beulah (Big Mama) Edwards and went to live with our LORD on March 30, 2026 in Boise, ID. He was the 5th of 10 children.

Bill enlisted in the Air Force June 4, 1952 and retired from the Air Force August 31, 1976. He retired with the rank of First Sergeant (aka Master Sergeant). He served those 24 years, working on the fuel systems for a multitude of aircraft from planes to missiles. He traveled across the US and the world, including Greenland, Korea, and Spain but always considered Fairchild AFB in Spokane as his home base.

His greatest pride was in being husband to his wife who was not only the love of his life but also his best friend, Mary Ann, for 72 years; as father to their children, William (Bill) Jr, Michael (Mike), Theresa (Terri) Jones, Steve; father-in-law to Lisa (Bill Jr), Dawn (Mike), Ken (Terri) and Michele (Steve); grandfather to Chelsea, Sarah (Bill Jr), Jackie, Maggie (Mike), Kendra, Kayla (Terri), Christian and Taylor (Steve); great-grandfather to Corben (Kayla), Ellie, Gabby (Jackie) and Felix (Christian).

In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his siblings G.O. Edwards, Judy Williams and Jill Hale, he was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings (Maola, Melba, Alene, Dorthea (Dot), Joyce and Jack).

Bill will be remembered for many things but primarily as a man who served the Lord, served his country, met a girl and served her and the family they created, both immediate and extended. He lived to meet and love grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He lived a full life on earth, an amazing 92 years!

In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choosing is suggested.

Services will be held on May 4, 2026 beginning at 10:30 AM St. Mary’s Church in Boise, Idaho. Burial will follow, with military honors, at 1:00 PM Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
