William (Bill) Sellers passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023. He was 89 years old. Bill was born  on April 06,1934, in Hexham, Northumberland, England to William and Bertha Sellers. Educated at Framlingham College and Writtle University College, Bill farmed at Gambers Hall in Essex before being called up to the British Army. He was stationed in Germany during his National Service and rose to the rank of Bombardier.

Bill married the love of his life, Maureen, in Thaxted, Essex in 1962 and they welcomed two sons, Andrew and Stephen. In 1967, he moved his family to Canada to pursue graduate studies in agricultural engineering at the University of Alberta, Edmonton. An opportunity to work for the J.R. Simplot Company led him to relocate his family to Boise, Idaho. Bill founded Applied Electronics Company and dedicated his business to the innovation of digital products for environment control in agricultural, industrial, and recreational settings. His career took him to Argentina, Venezuela, Belgium, Sweden and throughout the United States.

Bill’s life in Idaho was adventurous. Alongside his business interests, he tried ranching, flew light aircraft, and volunteered at Bogus Basin. He had many hobbies over the years including horseback riding, hunting, carpentry, gardening, watching rugby, and swimming. He instilled in his family his true love of camping, skiing, sailing and Labrador Retrievers. Bill was kind, funny, and above all dedicated to those he loved.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bertha, and his sister Heather. He leaves behind his wife, Maureen, and their sons Andrew (Diana) and Stephen (Gwen), and grandchildren Trevor Reed, Stevie Sellers, and Stacie Sellers all in Boise. He is also survived by his sister Valerie, nephew Paul, nieces Susan and Mary, and additional family members in England.

As Bill always said “Home James, and don’t spare the horses!”
