Virginia Lee Shoemaker Beals was born in Weatherby, Oklahoma, January 2nd, 1934 and she left earth for Heaven on April 12th, 2026. She had the coolest birth date ever, 1-2-34. She was 92 years, 3 months when she passed.

She lived her early years on a ranch in Wyoming, helping with the farm work from a very young age. She attended a one room schoolhouse, often riding there on her horse. She spent part of her childhood in California near her beloved Aunt and cousins Faye and Jean. Her high School years were here in Idaho at Boise High where she graduated.

A talented singer, she participated in multiple plays, musicals, opera, choirs and as a soloist at Boise High, NNC, Boise Theater, the Boise Opera and in her home Church choir. While attending NNC, she met her lifelong friend Neola Tracy. She also took Chemistry at NNC and subsequently married the chemistry professor, Loring Beals.

Raising her family was important to her and she kept a clean, beautiful home. She took the time to cook for her family. She excelled at setting beautiful holiday tables and preparing holiday feasts for the family.

She also worked outside the home in the banking industry in Boise and California before her marriage. After marriage she worked at Shoemaker Trucking and a trucking company in Portland, Oregon. Lastly, she worked many years as the secretary for Red Rock Christian Church in Boise, where she made many friends.

She was a voracious reader. She was a real Christian and prayed daily, her whole life, that each member of her family would accept Jesus Christ as their very own Savior and that they would make Him the guide of their lives. She was known for her kindness. She was loved by many people. She will be missed.

She is survived by her daughter Shelley and husband Lyle Dean, her son Scott Beals, of Boise, her grandsons Travis Dean of Nampa, Taylor Dean and wife Tiffany, of Pennsylvania, and her six great grandchildren, Rebekah Dean, Gregory Dean, Carolyn Dean, Kay Leigh Sue Dean of Meridian, Hudson Dean and Harrison Dean of Pennsylvania.
