Valerie O'Connor

On June 9, 2025 our beloved sister and daughter passed away at home after a battle with cancer. Valerie Lynn O'Connor was born in Ogden, Utah on November 30, 1971 to Edmund and Ardith O'Connor. She was the oldest of four daughters.

Valerie spent the first ten years of her life in Alaska before her family settled in Boise Idaho. Valerie graduated from Centennial High School in 1990. After high school Valerie found her true passion of working with the elderly as a CNA. She was employed the past 25 years at Valley View nursing facility where she was adored by staff, residents, and their families. She put her whole heart and soul into caring for others. This often included her mother, whom Valerie had lived with since her father's death in 2013. Valerie was an incredibly private person with an amazingly big heart. Valerie had a strong conviction of God and was a highly spiritual person. She enjoyed solo traveling and took trips every summer. Her most recent trip last summer was to Alaska where she was able to see places she had frequented while in her youth. Other past trips included seeing the Notre Dame football stadium and a road trip through Idaho in which she loved the Sawtooths. The family would like to express our appreciation for the hospice staff and the staff at Valley View for their support and compassion. She is survived by her mother, Ardith O'Connor, and three younger sisters, Tamara, Natalie (Lee), and Tonya. She is preceded in death by her father Edmund O'Connor.

Valerie will be laid to rest in a private event at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.
