Tony Lee Kearns, 65, passed away in a Boise hospital on April 5, 2024. Tony was born May 18, 1958, in Boise, Idaho where he lived his entire life.
Tony was the youngest of three boys born to Marvin and Joanne (Osler) Kearns (both deceased). He attended Pierce Park Elementary, Hillside Junior High and Capital High School where he graduated in 1977.
Tony married his wife of 32 years, Amy Beth (Johnson) on June 28, 1991. They have one daughter, Diane Elizabeth. Tony loved his wife and daughter with all his heart. They were his life.
As a young man, Tony enjoyed riding dirt bikes and rock climbing. He enjoyed drawing, making his own arrowheads, and playing pool. He also loved old cars, especially Model A’s, and listening to a variety of music, one of his favorites being the Beatles. As Tony grew older he cherished quiet and solitude, often taking long drives while listening to music.
Although Tony was not a huge “people person,” he was one of the most polite persons you would ever meet. Even in the hospital and while not feeling well, everything was yes ma’m/sir, no ma’m/sir, thank you ma’m/sir. When asked about it, Tony would laugh and say he was taught to be that way by his parents and that he could still imagine his mom slapping him upside the back of the head if he wasn’t polite.
Tony is survived by his wife Amy, daughter Diane, brother Craig (Jody) Kearns, his in-laws Janelle (Tom) Owings and Scott (Sue) Johnson, sisters-in-law Rachel (Jim) Morris, Dietrich Johnson, Sara (Justin) Coleman, and Erin Christy, and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tony loved his family and we loved him. We will miss him.
