It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Timothy Allen Greenwell, age 60, of Eagle, Idaho, on April 14, 2025. Timothy was a dedicated son, brother, friend, husband, father, and grandfather. His love for family, his faith, and his commitment to community shaped his life and left an enduring legacy.
Born on May 30, 1964, in Pontiac, Illinois, Tim grew up with a deep sense of responsibility. He graduated from Chenoa High School, MacMurray College, and went on to earn a Master’s degree from Georgetown University. He also passed the Certified Public Accountant exam on his first try. Tim served his community through his work in the Army Audit, the Defense Contract Audit Agency, and the Air Force Audit. He also enjoyed working for DoorDash in his later years.
On May 17, 1986, Tim married Allison Frech in Chatham, Illinois. Together, they built a loving home and raised four children: Thomas Greenwell (MacKenzie), Michael Greenwell, Joseph Greenwell (Emily), and Kathryn Greenwell. Tim was a grandfather to five grandchildren. In addition, he was also a father figure to foster children Ikia Glass, D’Anny Farr, and Davionna Chapman.
Timothy was preceded in death by his brother, David Greenwell, his father, James Greenwell, his sister, Rebecca Todd, his baby, Christiana Paul Greenwell, and his mother-in-law, Kathryn Frech. His legacy lives on in his loving family.
Tim’s favorite companion was his dog, Wrigley, who brought him joy and comfort throughout the years. He loved spending time with his family offering his support whenever it was needed.
Throughout his life, Tim was an avid supporter of Chicago sports, particularly the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Bulls. He enjoyed watching the games and sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family. He loved coaching many of his children’s sports teams. He was a Girl Scout cookie dad. He always supported his children’s, and grandchildren’s, activities with energy.
Tim was involved in his church communities: serving as treasurer at Forest Dale Church of Christ in Ohio, song leader at Countryside Christian Church in Georgia, and as a deacon at Boise Church of Christ in Idaho.
