Thomas W. Novak, 82, of Star, Idaho, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. He was born on May 12, 1944, and lived a life defined by devotion—to his country, to his family, and to the adventures that brought him joy.
Thomas proudly served 25 years in the United States Army, dedicating himself to duty with honor and resilience. His service shaped the man he became; steady, disciplined, and deeply committed to those he loved.
For 61 years, Thomas shared a remarkable life with his beloved wife, Pat, building a home filled with loyalty, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Together they raised two daughters, Stacy and Shelly, who were the pride of his heart. His family grew to include four grandsons, two granddaughters, two great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters, each one carrying forward a piece of his legacy.
Thomas was one of eight children. He is preceded in death by his father, William Novak, his mother, Helen Thacker Novak, his sisters Marilyn and Barbara, and his brother Donnie. Their memories remained close to him throughout his life.
Thomas had a deep love for classic cars, admiring their craftsmanship and the stories they carried. But his greatest joy came from traveling with Pat. Together, they explored all fifty states in their RV, embracing the open road and the freedom it offered. Their adventures didn’t stop there; they enjoyed 18 cruises across the world, collecting memories from every shore and every horizon.
He lived with curiosity, courage, and a spirit that never stopped seeking the next journey. Thomas will be remembered for his strength, his loyalty, his humor, and the love he poured into every generation of his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped and the memories he leaves behind.
