Thomas (Tom) Jay Felzien, 92, from Nampa, Idaho, passed away on August 23, 2026. Tom was born in Saint Francis, Kansas on April 2, 1934 to Edward Henry Felzien and Eva Marie (Burr) Felzien. He was the fifth of six children. He served in the Navy for four years.

He met Marie Ann Ackerman on a blind date and they were married on February 4, 1961 in Wichita, Kansas. He was 26 and she was 25. Tom and Marie Ann had five children, Thomas Jay Jr., Molly Jean, Terese Ann, Peter Jay and Patrick Ward. Tom worked as an electronic technician for the U.S. Forest Service. It was a job that moved the family to Orofino, Idaho; Holbrook, Arizona; Silver City, New Mexico; then to Boise, Idaho, in 1977 where he worked for the Department of the Interior as an aircraft communications technician. After he retired, he worked at Shadow Valley Golf Club in Boise for several years.

Tom was a man of adventure, he liked to travel, garden, golf, camp, fish and hunt. He was quick to laugh, had an incredibly positive attitude, and he took great care of his wife and children. He gave his life to Jesus Christ on June 14, 2021, at the age of 87, and now resides in his heavenly home with his Savior. His dear wife of 46 years, Marie Ann, passed away from a rare form of Parkinson’s disease in 2007. He is survived by his five children, 20 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren, with two on the way.
