Theron Young, 84, of Boise, passed away peacefully at home of cancer, surrounded by family. Theron was raised in Meridian and lived in Boise for the remainder of his life. His parents were Jeff & Gladys Young. Theron was the sixth child of seven; Stan, Joanne, Beverly, then two sets of twins born on October 12, 1939, and 1941. Doug and Agnes and Theron and Kay, all celebrating birthdays together. Theron went to school in a two-room country schoolhouse, Blue Valley School. Then to Eagle Junior High, and onto Meridian High School. He met Doris at a teenage hangout, the Howdy Partner. They went together for two years, then married in 1961. Theron worked in the automotive industry as a mechanic and service advisor, then as a mechanic for Bigelow Tea Company, where he retired in 2005. Theron and Doris have three sons, Lonnie (Tracey), Dan (Becky) and Daron (Shelley) and two grandsons, Zach and Parker, as well as numerous grand dogs and grand horses. Theron had a special dog, Benji, that followed him everywhere. Theron was the best husband, dad and grandpa. Thereon enjoyed camping and riding motorcycles all over the Idaho hills. Theron and Doris spent a lot of fun times travelling around the United States with friends Fletch & Yvonne Marsten. They also enjoyed going south in the winters to Yuma, Arizona, where they met so many fun people. Each year they would take their grandsons motor homing to wherever they wanted to go. Theron finally purchased his “pride and joy” – a beautiful red, 1937 Chevy hot rod – a few years ago that he loved showing off at car shows.
Theron is survived by three siblings, Beverly (Byron), Agnes (Jim) and Kay Grimes. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Doug and Stan and one sister, Joanne.
