Theresa Aileen Cress

Theresa Aileen Cress, Ike as she was known, Returned home on June 24th, 2026. She was born to George William Maher and Zeta Theresa Maher on August 24th, 1952 in Nampa, Idaho.

She leaves behind her two daughters Angela Cress (NV) and Melissa Cress (ID) Ex-husband, Mike Cress (ID), Her sister Betty McMikle (ID) and her 7 beloved grandchildren.

Preceded in death by brothers James Hugh Maher, and Peter Ambrose Maher, and her sister Georgia Kathleen Emch.

Ike moved to Idaho in 2016. Her six grandchildren joined her in 2018. Ike helped to raise her grandchildren with love and care.

Ike worked hard all her life, on farms for family, delivering mail and at the gold mines in Nevada.

For many years Ike worked for the Northern Nevada Community College for the single parent center. She was responsible and proudly wrote grants and created budgets for single mothers to be able to afford to go to school sometimes for free and helped support the children's needs. At the end of her career Ike worked for Nevada state Health in the arthritis department.

Ike leaves such a wonderful legacy for her daughters and grandchildren. Ike exhibited an example for them to follow, hard work, taking care of others, giving and teaching life lessons. Ike rose above the difficulties she faced in life and chose to lead with love everyday.

The grandchildren were blessed to have her. She will be missed by all who knew her.
