Terry Lee Hall
Terry Lee Hall passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2024, after a short stay at Aspen Transitional Rehabilitation in Meridian. Terry was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in late December 2023. Though he fought hard for 10 months to overcome this illness, the cancer spread to his liver.
Terry was born in Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday, August 6, 1947, to Marvel L Shannon. Terry’s father Robert L Hall of Columbus was not a part of his life. The two never meet. Terry grew up in the Columbus area with twin older sisters, Caroyl, and Cheryl. Terry’s love of cars began at an early age. He bought and later sold many popular vehicles.
Terry married Brenda Sue Wilson in May 1965 at Clintwood Primitive Baptist Church in Clintwood, Virginia. They soon became parents to Kimberly, Tracy, and Scott. They were later divorced. Terry then married Diane Marie Mulato in Kentucky. They became parents to Michelle. They later divorced. Terry married Gina K Brenisholtz on July 8,1984 by Reverand Love at Love’s Wedding Chapel in Stateline, Lake Tahoe, Nevada. They were married 40 years.
During a vacation trip with friends in 1973, Terry fell in love with Idaho’s wide-open spaces. A year later he, Diane and Michelle moved from Columbus to Marsing Idaho.
Terry had an extensive work history. He drove tow-truck in Columbus; he learned car repair and body work. He worked at local auto dealerships in the Boise area and progressed to body shop manager positions at both Miller-Stephen and Dennis Dillon. He was the used vehicle buyer for Dennis Dillon. He left the car business for a while and bought Western Appraisers. He started a used car business-West Boise Auto Sales on Fairview Ave in Boise. He had a short stint at Key Bank in collections and repossessions. He opened his own car wholesale lot – Wholesale Auto Brokers. Terry decided to retire in 2010 yet found himself bored so began working 6 months of the year at Consignment Sales of Idaho. Fighting cancer became his full-time job so he decided to stop working in the spring of 2024.
As a younger man, Terry bowled frequently as a league bowler. However, his passion for cars and drag racing was most important to him. Two years ago, he and friend Russ Hoff started a race team at Firebird Raceway in Eagle. Terry spent many days, weeks and months enjoying this sport in both Ohio and Idaho. He leaves behind many beloved friends. His happiest times were when he was with his drag racing friends driving or talking about racing.
Terry and Gina enjoyed many road trips in their RV, traveling alone or with friends. His commitment was to see everything possible in the USA’s 50 states. Terry deeply loved his Boston Terriers.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife Gina, his children, Kimberly Tucker of Boise, Tracy Krichbaum (Phil) of Meridian, Scott Hall (Sherri) of Columbus, Michelle Hall of Meridian, stepson Clark Brenisholtz (April) brothers Richard O’Brien of Virginia Beach, Va, Jeffrey Hall of Naples. FL, Michael Hall of Washington Courthouse, OH, Joe Wilcox (Myong) of Columbus, Randy Wilcox (Sue) of Mesquite, TX, and his sister Vicky Stebelton (Stubby) of Washington Court House, OH, many nieces and nephews, fourteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
Terry and Gina both wish to express their gratefulness for the exceptional care received by St Lukes Cancer Institute in Nampa. Angels work there.
Terry was preceeded in death by his mother Marvel Wilcox, sisters Caroyl Pyle, Cheryl Baughman VanDyne, three nephews Gary Pyle, Tye Baughman, and Cole Baughman all of Columbus.
Terry’s Celebration of Life will be held in Spring 2025 at Firebird Raceway in Eagle Idaho. Details will be posted on Facebook as the time draws closer.
