Terry Aven Hodges, avid fisherman, tennis player, bowler, and golfer, passed away August 5. Terry proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. His first duty station brought him to Montana, where he met and married the love of his life, Hazel. During their marriage, they had three children, traveled the world, and finally retired in Mtn. Home, Idaho.

Terry enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing, bowling, and golfing. He shared his love for RC Cola and Sudoku with his children and grandchildren. He loved to take “shortcuts” which always led to an adventure, taught us all that the best way to handle the stresses of life was to “sit down, relax, and have a Pepsi”, and that the 60’s had the best music.

Terry lived an amazing life and left everyone who knew him with so many wonderful memories. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; his children Melissa & Jay (Murray), Kimberly & Phillip (McCluskey), Terry Hodges (T.J.), his 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, David, and his sister, Sandy, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Aven, mother, Cora, and brother, Michael Hodges.

Our hearts are broken and yet we celebrate a life well lived and find comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain.  We want to thank the V.A. Hospital, Idaho State Veterans Home and Memory Care, and the amazing staff who provided excellent care for Terry; your kindness, dedication, and professionalism is appreciated.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman’s Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho. Funeral is Thursday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m, at the Idaho Veterans Cemetery.
