Teresa Leah Johnston, age 68, passed away on February 10, 2026, in Boise, Idaho.
Teresa spent the majority of her life in Idaho, a place that suited her love of the outdoors and her adventurous spirit. She enjoyed camping, spending time outside, and had a particular fondness for sports cars.
Teresa was known for her kind heart, deep empathy, and the way she made people feel instantly comfortable in her presence. She had a natural ability to listen, offer words of wisdom when they were needed, and meet people exactly where they were. At the same time, she was vibrant, playful, and always quick to joke and tease in a way that made others laugh while feeling loved all at once.
She was deeply social and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone, from grocery store aisles to the nursing home, where she continued to lovingly tease the staff until the very end. People often remarked on how fun and easy she was to be around and how her presence made life feel a little lighter.
In her spare time, Teresa loved to paint and read. During the last year of her life, she especially embraced watercolor painting, a practice that brought her peace, creativity, and genuine joy.
Teresa showed her love through thoughtful gestures and small gifts, always finding ways to let people know they mattered. For her children, she was a safe place and a soft landing. She supported them through every chapter of life without judgment, even when she didn't always agree. Her love was unconditional and steady, and she never missed an opportunity to say, "I love you."
Teresa is survived by her three children, Jenifer Barry, Cylina (Boyd) Miller, and Jayson (Gina) Haines; her four grandchildren, Jaimus and Leo Wilson, and Hudson and Monroe Haines, who were a great source of joy in her life; and her siblings, Caren, Cathy, and Mark. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael, and her parents, Dee and Burt.
Teresa will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, her wisdom, and the love she gave so freely. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
A celebration of Teresa's life will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Stonehouse located at the Boise RAM, 709 E. Park Blvd., Boise, ID 83712.
