After 40 plus years he retired and pursued a new passion for woodworking in his home, turning pens and bowls, making cutting boards and various special gifts and items for his extensive family and friends.
Steve and Shirley are blessed with two wonderful children, daughter Kristina and son Robert, both of whom reside in Meridian, five grandchildren and two step granddaughters, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He was preceded in death by his Mother Frances (Steelman), his Father Donald Whitney and Stepmother Ethel(Madge), numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family asks no flowers preferring donations to the Alzheimer's Association of Idaho (https://Alzheimer's Association /idaho) in his name.
My memory may have failed But my love for you was true Although it may not have seemed That you were you, I knew.
I know I seemed to drift away To places long since past Please know I didn’t go willingly And I know you loved me to the last.
Perhaps I may have seemed muddled Or confused in the extreme But in my mind, life seemed to have become A hazy kind of dream.
I ask you to remember me The way I was before You always showed me all your love When I needed it more and more.
Although I may have seemed lost to you My soul was still the same Now the time has come, I’m truly gone So, with love, please speak my name.
