Celebrating the Life of Stephen Joseph Shaw
Stephen (Steve) Joseph Shaw was born on Sunday, October 18th, 1981, in Bishop, California to Jon Shaw and his then wife, Deborah Ford. The youngest of three boys between Jon and Debbie, his brothers being Jason and Jared Shaw.
Steve’s eventual stepmother, Valerie Frontuto became a part of his life when he was barely two years old, at which time Steve and his brothers were also blessed with the addition of their stepbrother David and stepsister Jennifer Ysais.
Steve spent his very young life between the valleys and mountains of southern California, and his formative years between Clackamas and Oregon City, Oregon, and New Meadows, Idaho. Even as a child, Steve always had a unique ability to fit well into any social situation, and was always well received and liked amongst any circle of friends he found himself in, due to his characteristic charm, wit and humor.
While in high school, Steve learned the printing trade, like his eldest brother Jason, and mastered the art of being a pressman at a young age. Steve and his high school girlfriend, Shanna, welcomed the birth of his first beautiful daughter, Caitlin Rose Shaw, in 1998.
Steve gained the opportunity to build custom homes alongside his brother Jared in Lanai City, Hawaii, over the course of the next several years. He would ultimately give up the printing trade for good, honing his construction skills between Hawaii and Idaho, and worked along side his brothers Jared and David in that industry, focusing on founding his own company, America Strong Construction, specializing in custom interior finishing and carpentry.
Steve became a fulltime resident of Idaho in 2006, and married Heather. In December, 2007, they welcomed their amazing son, Logan Montgomery Shaw; and in 2014, welcomed Steve’s second lovely daughter, Leiah Lillis Shaw to the family.
Steve had many passions, which included cooking; movies; comicbook, art, and tattoo collecting; was an avid tropical plant curator; his travels to Hawaii, loved motorcycle riding; a lifelong love for animals; and had a deep love for camping in the Sawtooth mountains of Idaho. Steve was a practical man, but also an extremely generous man, and always had the unique ability to light up a room anywhere he went.
Steve is survived by his three children, Caitlin, Logan, and Leiah; his brothers Jason, Jared and wife Trisha, and David and wife Tara; his parents, Jon, Debbie, and Valerie; his neices and newphews, Ian, Savannah, Levi, Joey, Gannon, and Izzy; aunts, uncles, and many cousins; his sweet cat Lucy, as well as countless friends and loved ones who all meant so much to Steve.
Steve is is well loved by all whose hearts he touched, and will continue to light up any room where his name is mentioned.
