Sonny Beau Davis started life’s final journey to heaven on September 8, 2023, when he passed peacefully at the family home in Boise, Idaho.  He was comforted by his parents and sister, Misti.

Sonny’s journey began as the first child, born to Johnnie and Jo Ann Davis, in the city of Concord, California, on May 25 th , 1976.  Sonny was born with Down Syndrome and had numerous health issues throughout his life and was a true fighter to the very end.

On Sonny’s first birthday in 1977, the family moved to Boise, Idaho to be closer to his maternal Grandparents, Harley and Maxene Brueck and Jo Ann’s siblings.  In 1978, his parents were blessed with the birth of his one and only sister, Misti Michelle.

In 1979, Sonny and his parents traveled back to the Bay Area for his scheduled open-heart surgery at the California University of San Francisco.  The operation was successful!

In 1984, his father was promoted, and the family transferred to Sandy, Utah, where Sonny continued his education and participated in the Special Olympics for track, long jump, and shotput.  He was presented with several Special Olympic medals and proudly displayed them at home!

In 1988, another promotion took the family to Phoenix, Arizona, where Sonny blossomed in his education, he began bowling, playing in Challenger League Baseball, and participated in Karate training with his sister, Misti.  Sonny took immense pride in all his sports activities and harassing his sister!

In 1995, the family moved back to Boise, Idaho, to start a new business and once again be close to family.  Sonny attended school at Capital High and received his diploma for Special Ed Classes at Boise State University.  He went on to attend Adult Programs at Community Partnerships of Idaho, (CPI), and worked a part-time job at McDonald’s in downtown Boise.  He attended CPI five days a week until the Covid virus disrupted the program.

Sonny greatly enjoyed swimming every day of the swim season and played ladder golf in his backyard almost year-round. He had a great natural love for all cats and dogs he had over the years, and his favorite times were spent with family and friends while partying or visiting anywhere.  During those times he entertained everyone with dancing to music, singing, playing jokes and having his picture taken with everybody!

People will recall Sonny for being a pure sweet soul with an immense true love for all, knowing and loving Jesus, having a great sense of humor, being a proud American and passionate BSU football fan!!

Sonny is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harley “Poppy” Albert Brueck.

Sonny is survived by his parents, Johnnie and Jo Ann Davis of Boise, Idaho; his sister, Misti Michelle Davis of Meridian, Idaho; grandmother, Norma “Mimi” Maxene Brueck of Boise, Idaho and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
