Shirleen Lois Shores, born on July 19, 1944, in the town of Holdenville, Oklahoma, lived a life brimming with love, kindness, and an unyielding dedication to her family and community. She peacefully departed from this world on September 19, 2026, with her beloved family by her side, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion.
Raised by her loving parents, Lester and Edna Shores, Shirleen was blessed with a nurturing environment that instilled in her the values of kindness and selflessness. Shirleen adored her brothers and sisters; Wilburn, Arnold, Jimmie, Kenneth, LuVeta, Marvin, Kathleen, Russell and Judy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, her parents, her cherished brothers and sisters, and her dear sons, Nat and Billy, all of whom she held close to her heart throughout her life.
Shirleen is survived by her devoted daughter, Natalie, who was her pride and joy. Her legacy continues through her eight adoring grandchildren: Amanda, Cody (Kaysha), Katie, Natasha (Sean), Alex, Shandra, Jackson, and Taylor. The family tree further blossoms with her great-grandchildren: Curtis, Kiayanne, Kayshia, Koda, Dayton, Nala, Joziah and Veyda.
Shirleen pursued her passion for beauty and style, working as a beautician in Nampa, Idaho. Later in life, she embraced a new adventure by owning and operating a fishing charter in Alaska, a testament to her fearless spirit and love for the great outdoors. First and foremost, Shirleen took immense pride in her role as a mother, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to the well-being and happiness of her children.
Her selfless nature knew no bounds; she was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, driven by a sincere desire to bring joy to the lives of those around her. Shirleen's generosity and warmth endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Shirleen shared a life filled with love and adventure with her husband, Wayne Roark. His two wonderful children, Bob and Becky (Paul). Their shared passions included being members of the Porsche Club, where they cultivated friendships and created cherished memories together.
A memorial service to celebrate Shirleen's remarkable life will be held on October 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bowman Funeral Home in Garden City. Family and friends are invited to gather and share in the memories of a truly extraordinary woman. Celebration of Life open house from 3pm-6pm at Royal Plaza rooftop, 1112 W Main St, Boise, ID 83702.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in Shirleen's honor, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping her daughter.
Shirleen's departure leaves a void in our hearts, but her spirit of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire and guide us. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who were touched by her gentle and loving soul.
