Sharon Palmer, Our beautiful Mother, Sister, Friend, and Beloved Wife passed from her earthly home into her Heavenly Home surrounded by family October 18th, 2024.
She was born in Colorado to Kenneth and Vivian Churchwell and gave her life to the Lord when she was just 9 years old. She was very much in love with her husband Jerry who she praised for how he took care of her and loved her. They met when she was 17 years old after she came to visit her family in Idaho at a Church New Years Eve Party. They both told us later that they each thought the other was too good looking to like them, but somehow that proved to be untrue as they were married when my mom was just 18 and my dad was 20. She was always very proud of the fact that they had 55 years together in marriage. My dad shared that he remembered seeing her prior to their meeting, on one of her visits, singing at a church, a song that she wrote called "God isn't Dead". He said little did he know that years later she would become his wife. After they were married, they moved back and forth from Colorado to Idaho until they finally settled and raised their family in Idaho, in the summer of 1983.
She was Truly loved by her family and remembered most for her Beautiful singing and Gifted piano playing. She wrote her first song when she was 8 years old and when she wrote God isn't Dead, she was 15 years old. She had written the song in response to the headlines that were circulating during the 60's. Her mom and dad published the song on 500 records and then sold them to anyone who was interested, for only $1. All of the records sold, and she later received letters from around the world. Some from Germany, New Zealand, and other countries thanking her for the message of her song. She was always so humble when it came to her talents and always gave God the Credit and Glory. Over the years she continued to write many Gospel songs that became a beautiful legacy of God's Love to her children and family. We were Blessed Beyond Measure to have shared life with her. She was a prayer Warrior for her family, a counselor and patient listener, and she was a Generous gift giver. She was a great cook and would stay up all night to prepare a special meal for her family. She loved cooking for her family and was famous for her Mexican Dinners, which we all loved! Some things people may not have known about her is she loved to fish, and without fail, she always caught the biggest fish… "Ask my brother" and she was a master Thrift shopper! She was Always so proud of the deals she found!
She planted so many seeds in her family and also those who were blessed enough to have known her. She has gone before us in Glory, but she is with us in our Savior. We look forward to the Great Day we will all be reunited with her in Heaven. She is in the place we all long to be and she is More Alive Today than she ever was on this earth. Life is but a glimpse, but it's only the Beginning for Our Dearly Loved Sharon 🤍⚘️
