Sharon Lee Donica

Sharon Lee Donica passed away peacefully on April 21st in Boise, Idaho.  Born on March 27th, 1944, in Portland, Oregon to Steven and Arlene Burtch, Sharon’s life was a testament to her strong Christian faith. Her gentle spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her.

In 1961, Sharon’s family moved from Portland to a farm near Star, Idaho.  She graduated from Middleton High School in 1962 and furthered her education at Northwest Nazarene College.  In 1972, she married Arthur E. Donica in Boise, and they moved to Gooding, Idaho in 1974. Daughter Diane was born in 1974, and son Arthur was born in 1975.

A talented classical pianist, Sharon shared her love for music by teaching piano to many students from Gooding and the surrounding communities.  She loved the ocean, especially the Oregon coast and the beaches of Hawaii.  Sharon will be remembered for her kindness, grace, and faith in Jesus Christ.

Sharon is survived by brothers Lynn Burtch of Tucson, AZ; Neil (Susie) Burtch of Boise; sister Beth (Rick) Bowman of Tucson, AZ; daughter Diane (Cody) Claver of Scottsdale, AZ; son Arthur D. Donica of Gooding; and grandchildren Katie, Jacob, and Samuel Claver.  She is preceded in death by her parents Steven and Arlene Burtch, husband Arthur E. Donica; and niece Allyson Koski.

Sharon’s funeral service will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Rd. in Boise on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 10 am.
