Sharon Gale (Anvinson) Macaluso, 83, of Nampa, Idaho passed away peacefully, January 27, 2025 at 8:04 p.m. Sharon was born March 2, 1941 in Oslo, Minnesota, the daughter of Parents’ Lester and Agnes (Martin) Anvinson. Sharon graduated from High School then went on to College, earning her license practical nurse degree and worked in nursing until she married John Macaluso on June 30, 1964. She went on to raise 4 great kids; Scott, Shawn, Diane and Danny.
Sharon worked for 1st Bank until she retired due to health problems and received a new kidney from her brother, Tim Anvinson. After her kids grew up, she moved to Minnesota to live close to her mom and siblings on the lake until her mom, Agnes, passed away. Sharon then moved to Nampa, Idaho to live with her grandchildren and be part of their lives. She loved driving them to school, watching their sporting events and volunteering at the school helping others with their reading.
The last page of her life was finding a house in wonderful over 55 Community called Gold Crest where she was close to her family and she had her own home and lived with other independent seniors up until her passing. She volunteered in the community library, loved visiting with her neighbors on the neighborhood bench, occasionally enjoying some good wine with them. She loved playing card games, Bunco, and traveling whenever she could. Sharon enjoyed the local theaters and going to concerts especially the piano guys. Movies and restaurant dining with family and friends were passions of hers along with being in the beauty of the mountains, forests and oceans.
Sharon enjoyed quilting and won several awards for some of her works of art. Some of her most favorite memories were living on the lake, being with her grandkids, going on cruises, visiting the Turks/Caicos Islands, Alaska, and Disney World. She always enjoyed phone conversations with her family and Christmas was her favorite time of the year spending a lot of years with Diane in Colorado and also being with the grandchildren in Idaho. She always looked forward to visits from her kids. Books were her passion and she was constantly reading.
A very devout Catholic throughout her life, Sharon was a member St. Paul’s Catholic Church Nampa, Idaho.
Remaining to cherish Sharon’s memory are her children, Scott, Orofino, ID., Shawn, Memphis,TN., Diane, Sedalia CO., Danny, Lakewood, CO.; grandchildren, Nicole, Mikayla, Aimee, Braydan, Emylee; great-grandchildren, Harper, Elana; brothers, Tim Anvinson, Erskine, MN, Jeff Anvinson, East Grand Forks, MN.; sisters, Jane Bushaw, Warroad, MN., Candy and husband Mike Von Rueden, Grand Forks, ND., many nieces and nephews including Roland Hyatt, Fair Oaks, CA.; grand puppies, Lacy, Shep, and Bambam.
Preceding Sharon in death are sister Angie Hyatt; sister in law Barb Anvinson; brother in law Ray Bushaw.
Her Celebration of Life will be on 3/2/25 @ 2:00pm in the clubhouse at 7149 Cherokee Drive, Sedalia, CO. 80135. It would have been her 84th birthday.
