Scott Ross Ellsworth passed away at age 74 at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise, ID on December 27, 2025.
Scott was born in Blackfoot, Idaho on September 5, 1951 to Ross and Ruth (Stout) Ellsworth. His sister Sharon was 14 years older than Scott, and she was his friend and additional mother both.
He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1969 and headed to Boise State College. He married Deborah Douglass on June 29, 1970 in Pocatello and their son Peter was born in Boise. They moved between southern Idaho towns including Carey, Blackfoot, Meridian and Boise, and then Sprague, Washington.
Scott returned to Blackfoot after a divorce and reconnected with a high school friend, Billie Orr. They created a blended family including Billie's two children Heidi Beaver and Anthony Yancey. He was a carpenter for most of his life, specializing in finish carpentry and fine woodworking. He worked on projects all over Idaho, Wyoming, Oregon, Washington and Arizona.
Fishing and gardening were among his main hobbies. After living in Oregon, Scott and Billie returned to Boise to care for their parents, Ross and Ruth Ellsworth and Mae Orr, who have since passed away.
Scott was close with his stepdaughter Heidi, who was an excellent caregiver to him in his last year of life. His son Peter and his wife Heather moved to Boise at this time to be close to him also.
Scott is survived by his son Peter and his wife Heather (Greenly), his stepdaughter Heidi Beaver and her children Scott and Brittany Beaver (Levi Northrup), and his stepson Anthony Yancey. He was preceded in death by his wife Billie in 2021 after 36 years of being together. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Sharon's children Doug Poulson, Christi Pauline, Kent Poulson, and Terri Paye.
