Rudy Dietrich of Meridian, Idaho passed away in his sleep July 13, 2023, at the age of 95.
He was born on June 28, 1928, to Rudolf and Marie Dietrich, in Rexburg, Idaho. His family moved to a farm in Rigby Idaho which he enjoyed very much. In his teens they moved to Emmett Idaho where he worked in a sawmill, then was drafted into the US Army to serve during the Korean War. At the close of the conflict, he went to BYU and then moved to Oregon where he worked as a park ranger at Silver Falls State Park. He loved the outdoors and people, so it was a perfect fit for him. Upon retiring he eventually moved to Meridian, Idaho with his wife Carolyn. He was an avid wood worker and enjoyed gardening and sharing produce with his friends and neighbors. He was the best grandfather and he will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held, 9:00 am, Thursday, July 27, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5501 N. Meridian, Rd., Meridian, with a public visitation beginning at 8:00 am.
A committal service will follow at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd., Boise.
