Rosalyn Lu (Specht) Jackson passed away peacefully at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho on Wednesday February 7, 2024. She was born to Homer J. and Gloria Specht in Los Angeles, California on October 20, 1933.

All of Rosalyn’s childhood was spent in Beverly Hills, California. She graduated from Beverly Hills High School and loved playing the piano. Rosalyn attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, California as an English Major where she met Robert (Bob) Jackson. They were married on June 21, 1953.

Rosalyn and Bob spent their first years of marriage in Arcadia, California, where Bob was employed at Arcadia High School and Rosalyn was employed at JC Penney Department Store. She gave birth to their first child, a girl, in March of 1955. At this time Rosalyn became a homemaker and dedicated mother.

The Jacksons moved to Azusa, California in the fall of 1955. Their second child, a boy, was born here in September of 1956. Rosalyn continued being a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of their young children. They enjoyed taking summer camping vacations to National Parks and day trips to the beach.

The family moved back to Arcadia, California, in the summer of 1960. Their third child, another girl, was born in December of 1962. Rosalyn was a dedicated Sunday School Teacher and Choir Member at Monrovia Church of the Nazarene for over 20 years. Rosalyn and Bob were also very involved with their children’s activities, band and drill team. The family continued to take many summer camping trips to visit National Parks. Rosalyn also enjoyed being an AVON lady for several years during this time.

After Bob’s retirement in 1983 and they moved to Hesperia, California. Rosalyn loved to be with her family, create various crafts and work in her rose garden. Rosalyn and Bob enjoyed taking trips to their timeshares in Arizona and Colorado. Bob passed away in December 2011 and Rosalyn decided to move to Nampa, Idaho in the spring of 2012 to be closer to her daughter and granddaughters. She regularly attended Valley Shepherd Church and had many friends that she enjoyed worshiping with. In June of 2017 she moved into her daughter’s home in Meridian, Idaho and spent the rest of her days enjoying time with family, attending church, reading good books, watching football and writing in her journal.

Rosalyn was preceded in death by Bob, her husband of 58 years, parents Homer and Gloria Specht, brother Joe Specht and sister Charmaine Crackel.

She is survived by daughter Judy (Jackson) Huchingson (Rick), son Brian Jackson and daughter Donna (Jackson/Phillips) Couvillier (David); Grandchildren Mark (Rachel Dorsey) Huchingson, Amy (Huchingson) Prout (Josh), Amanda Phillips and Michelle (Phillips) Ott (Peter). Rosalyn was also blessed with 7, plus one on the way, great grandchildren.
