Ronald Neal Coit Sr.

October 1, 1949 — October 1, 2025

Meridian

Ronald Neal Coit, Sr. of Meridian, Idaho, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, 76 years to the day after coming into this world. Ron was born on October l, 1949, in San Jose, California, to Alyce Seixas Coit and Elmer Coit.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Bowman Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho, officiated by his pastor, Brenen Beeler. Ron will be laid to rest with military honors at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.

Ron grew up in San Jose, CA and graduated from Camden High School. He married the love of his life, Shelley Coit, on March 20, 1975, in Reno, Nevada. Earlier this year, they joyfully celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary—a true testament to their love, commitment, and faith.

A proud Vietnam War veteran, Ron served two tours aboard a Navy minesweeper, primarily in the Cam Ranh Bay region. His dedication to his country and fellow servicemen continued throughout his life.

Ron began his career in the grocery industry, where he worked for 22 years before starting his own successful commercial building maintenance business in Twain Harte, California, which he ran for 16 years until his retirement.

Ron lived a full and adventurous life, calling several places home over the years, including San Jose, Morgan Hill, and Sonora, California; Brookings, Oregon; and for the past eight years, Meridian, Idaho.

From an early age, Ron loved motorcycles—getting his first at 16—and continued riding for decades. He cherished his riding buddies and enjoyed countless road trips, including two cross country rides. He was also passionate about his "Hot Rods" and spent many weekends showing them off at car shows throughout California, Nevada, and Idaho.

Service and fellowship were at the heart of Ron's life. He was deeply involved in Veterans organizations in both California and Idaho, most recently volunteering at Corpus Christi House in Boise to help the homeless. He faithfully served in every church he attended, most recently as a member of Calvary Chapel Eagle.

Ron was also a proud 27-year member of the Twain Harte Rotary Club, where he was a Paul

Harris Fellow, two-time Past President, and two-time Rotarian of the Year. He also served with the Tuolumne County Vietnam Veterans Association, participating as an Honor Guard member for his fallen brothers.

Ron will be remembered for his generous heart, unwavering work ethic, loyalty to his family and friends, and his deep love for the Lord.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Shelley Coit of Meridian, ID; his sons Ronald Coit, Jr. (Elvia) of San Diego, CA, and Ryan Coit (Shannon) of Meridian, ID; grandchildren Sean,

Madison, Colby, Lewis, Faithe, and Broen; great-grandson Walton; and his sister Joy Coit.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Alyce Coit, his brother Dennis Coit, and sister Gay Coit.

Ron's life was one of service—to God, his family, his country, and his community. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
