Roma Jean, at the age of 87, went peacefully to be with her Father in Heaven on Thursday March 27, 2019.
Roma was born to the late Rosalyn Jean and Alvin Leroy Tucker in November of 1931, in Long Beach, Ca. She was raised in the Long Beach – Wilmington area for most of her early life. Roma lived on a dairy farm and loved all animals. She was an only child and her hearts desire was to have a orphanage with at least 12 children. Roma opened her home to many foster children, babies, exchange students, all while having 5 children of her own. She loved family and wanted a large, and extended family. What a beautiful posterity!
School years were attended in the Wilmington area, grade through high school. Roma studied at BYU in Provo, UT, and also at a dental assistant school in San Francisco, Ca.
Roma and Clifford T. Jones Jr. were married in February of 1951 in St. George, UT, and eventually settled in Garden Grove, Ca. where they raised their family until 1979.
Roma attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved participating in the church and held many callings. She was a mentor, a friend to all, and loved by many.
She never met a stranger, even while standing in line at the store, she would share a smile and a kind word to all who crossed her path. She loved learning about people and finding connections. There would always be an ” It’s A Small World” story to share.
Roma moved to Idaho in 2006 and found HOME. It was a bit of heaven, being by most of her family, children, grand children, and great grandchildren. She loved attending family gatherings and family events. She loved gardening, watching the birds and squirrels as well as adopting ALL the neighborhood kitties.
Roma is preceded in heaven by her parents, Rosalyn Jean and Alvin Tucker; her oldest son Richard Jones; son-in-law David Fouche. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Scott and Debbie Jones, Elynn Fouche, Clayton and Marcy Jones, Lisa and Jeff Wood, and Susan Farnes (Jones) Needham. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren plus 10 of their spouses, and 29 great grandchildren with one on the way.
Roma Jean, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, loved by SO many, you will always be in our hearts. Thank you for your love.
Rejoice in heaven. Rest in love and peace.
