Roger Brian Britton, 73, of Meridian, Idaho, passed away on April 3, 2026.
Born in San Francisco, California, Roger lived a life defined by service, integrity, humor, and deep devotion to the people he loved. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, as well as a respected public servant whose love for people and connection to the community touched countless lives.
Roger gave 29 years of public service to the communities he served through his work with the Folsom Police Department and the Sacramento State Police Department. During his career, he was also a member of the Critical Response Unit, served as a Neighborhood Police Officer, and worked with the CHP Auto Theft Task Force. He also taught Disaster Preparedness and rode in the Police Mounted Unit at Cal Expo. Roger took great pride in serving the public and brought a positive attitude and good sense of humor to the people he met every day. He was also honored to serve his country through his time in the Army National Guard and the Marine Corps Reserve.
Roger worked many special events and high-profile assignments throughout his career, including the U.S. Olympic Trials, dignitary protection assignments, public events, and headliner concerts.
Above all, Roger loved his family. He was a devoted husband to Charlene Britton; a proud father to his daughter, Lauren Britton, and his son, Christopher Britton and Christopher’s wife, Maricris Britton; a beloved brother to Liza Britton; and a loving grandfather to Neri, Nydia, Nellie, and Nina Britton.
Roger’s legacy lives on in the love of his family, in the friendships he cherished, and in the many lives he touched through his years of service, kindness, and character. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24th at 11:00 AM at: Dry Creek Cemetery 9600 W Hill Rd Boise, Idaho 83714
Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at: Ron and Lynette Amarel 26105 Amarel Way Middleton, Idaho 83644
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meridian Police Department K9 Unit.
