Robert W. Ross, 72 of Boise, Id passed away Sept 2, 2025.
Robert retired from the US Bureau of Reclamation in 2018 where he worked on hydro-power. Prior, he retired in 1999 from the Idaho Air National Guard where he flew the RF-4 Phantom.
He was a native Idahoan and enjoyed the many outdoor activities including hunting, and dirt biking in the hills. He was always a great support to his family and friends. The most repeated phrase in the family was; “Robert can fix that”.
He was not intimidated by taking on such projects such as adding rooms to the family home, making a charcoal fueled barbecue (aka the “Pigatorium”) out of a 100 gal drum, and designing and implementing a hydroelectric power system at the Big Creek Lodge in North Cascade, or programing controller to run various hydro-power plants around the US and overseas
He put in a lot of time and work - mostly t paperwork , to get his wonderful sons from Korea ;they brought great joy to his life
He is survived by his Wife, Shelley Ross, His sons Christopher Ross and Donovan Ross, his mother Betty Ross, his sister, Marsha Weil, and all his lovely nieces.
There will be and internment ceremony 1:00 October 6th at the Idaho State Veteran’s Cemetery and a Celebration of Life following at 527 S Whisperwood Way, Boise, ID
