Robert Leland Craig, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on February 8th, 2025. He was born on November 5th, 1936, in Bruneau, Idaho to Ed and Odessa Craig. His parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were all from Bruneau. He was a storyteller and the tales he told of his childhood in Bruneau Idaho were filled with love and laughter. There were some tall tales too!
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Ed & Odessa Craig, and his only brother James Craig.
He is survived by his beloved wife Leona Craig, His 4 Children, Katrina Craig, Perry Craig (Karen Craig), Kathy Craig, and Jason Craig, His 3 Stepchildren, Carrie Fuller (Rob), Kelsie Atkinson (Phil), Mel Rawlinson (Mindy).
He also had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews all whom he loved and adored very much.
He married Ellen Roberson in 1956 and together they raised 4 children. They later divorced and in 1982 he met the love of his life Leona Stewart whom he was married to for over 42 years. They shared many happy times including spending many winters in Yuma Arizona along with all their snowbird friends.
He was a real cowboy through and through and lived the cowboy way every day of his life. His rodeo days were some of his best memories. The days of bull riding, bareback riding, team roping and saddlebronc riding he did them all. After his rodeo circuit days were over, he judged many local rodeos, and he was inducted into the Idaho Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2003. Bruneau was always part of his life, and he loved being part of the community events.
