Robert Lee Schroeder

Robert Lee Schroeder, age 88, of Boise, Idaho, died Thursday, September 26, 2024, at his home.

Born December 23,1935, near Oxford, Nebraska, he was the son of Albert Schroeder and Olive (Vandament) Schroeder.  Bob graduated from Mascot High School Class 1953.  His love of sports stemmed from his years of playing football, basketball, baseball and track. He married Grace Bryant on May 30, 1958, in Tacoma, Washington.

Bob had many careers in his life including salesman for Tripe Motor Company in Orleans, Nebraska, Holland Furnace, owner of Schroeder Heating and Air and The Valley Feed Store on State Street in Boise.  Bob was a breeder, owner and trainer of thoroughbred racehorses.  He earned accolades including Trainer of the Year and Horse of the Year for Thunder Ridge at Les Bois Park.  Bob raced at many other racetracks in California, Washington, Oregon, Nebraska and West Virginia.

Survivors include his daughter Bobbie Martinie (Richard), Boise Idaho; sister, Donna Dallmann (Myron) of Franklin, Nebraska; grandchildren Kaley Fife (Samuel) of Boise, Idaho, Brianna Martinie Anderson (Robert) of Papillion, Nebraska, and Jonathan Martinie of Boise, Idaho, plus two great-granddaughters.

His parents Albert and Olive Schroeder, wife Grace (Bryant) Schroeder, and son Michael Schroeder plus three sisters, Alene Schroeder, Joann Warrick (Rolland) and Janet Schmidt (Leroy) preceded him in death.

At his request, he was cremated with no funeral services to be held.  His remains, along with those of his wife and son will later be inurned at Dry Creek Cemetery.
