Fruitland

It is with heavy hearts and a gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Robert Reineke, known lovingly as “Bob” to his family and friends. Bob peacefully departed this world on June 11, 2026, at the age of 76, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the warmth of his friends in his final moments.

Born on July 25th, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri to William P. Reineke and Lucy E. (Quirk) Reineke. Bob was raised with strong Roman Catholic values and a love for country and community.

Bob shared over four decades of love with his beloved wife, Cathy (Vanhoose) Reineke, whom he married on September 1, 1975, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Cathy’s passing preceded Bob’s in 2023.

Bob is survived by his dear sister, Mary R. Dinnell, and her husband, Stephen F. Dinnell. He also leaves behind his nephews, Adam M. Dinnell (Diana), Joshua M. Dinnell (Layne), and Gregory A. Dinnell (Stacey).

Bob pursued Higher education with vigor, graduating from St. Louis University in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Shortly thereafter, he answered the call of duty, serving as a medic in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1971 to 1979.

Bob dedicated his professional life to Shell Oil Co., where he enjoyed a fulfilling career that took him both across the United States and The Hague, Netherlands. He retired with a wealth of experiences and friendships.

Bob was an active member of Clearwater Search and Rescue in Idaho, where his skills were invaluable. He also served in the Prison Ministry and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, always striving to make a positive impact.

Bob’s life was a tapestry of adventure. Forever evolving and reaching for new adventures. This included taking up snow skiing and golf. Bob was an avid fly fisherman, and a passionate hunter. He loved his St. Louis Cardinals, and the St. Louis Blues.

Rest in Peace, dear Bob
