Robert "Bob" L. Bell, 87, of Meridian, passed away August 2, 2025.
On September 29, 1937, Bob was born to his parents Clarence and Ruth Bell in Rexburg, Idaho. He was raised in Trona, California where he lived until joining the US Air Force in 1955. He spent his summers working on his grandparent’s and uncle’s farms in Rexburg. He spent his 4 years of service in Laredo, Texas and then went to Logan, Utah where he attended Utah State and graduated with a Masters in Engineering. He served one year in the US Air Force National Guard. He bought his 1965 Corvair Corsa for his accomplishments which we still have. He worked at IBM, Memorex, Hewlett Packard, and finished his very successful career at Quantum Corporation. He was loved by all his coworkers and employees.
Bob and Debbie were married on June 27, 1982. He welcomed her and her 3 kids, David, Jenny and Stephanie, with an open heart and open arms. He loved them and considered them his own. Bob was an avid skier, loved horses and dogs, loved camping, fishing, hunting and traveling and shared all this with his family. He’ll be missed in so many ways. From him always being there to help anyone in need, his “Bell Eggs” and BBQ Ribs on the weekends, the travels in our motor home and abroad, going to the kids races, your chuckles watching videos of the Grands and the Greats! You made sure we enjoyed it all and were so loved by our families.
But, above all, I’m going to miss your smile, your kiss and those big hugs you so willingly gave to everyone, and waking up next to you and the special look that only you and I shared. Alone in my darkness I’ll still see your face with my heart so broken tears run down my face. But I know when I see you again, you’ll ask “what took you so long?”. So loved and so grateful to have had this journey with you by my side.
We want to thank all who came to see him and the Keystone Hospice staff: Holly, Tara, Travis, Chaplain JD, Erika, Teresa and all who came to help with his care and comfort in the end.
Bob is survived by his wife Debbie Bell, children David (Keelee), Jenny (Charlie) and Stephanie. Grandchildren Austin (Natalie), Bailey (Dallas), Caitlin (Darrell), Chance, Lauren, Ryan, Jocelyn and Great Grand kids Kasen, Kallen, and Landon and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ray and Jay.
