Bob, 81, passed away from multiple complications from cancer. Bob grew up in Chicago. He came from a proud Czech background that he cherished until his death. Bob graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology and Northwestern University and went onto achieve and fulfill an extremely productive career in civil engineering. He met his wife, Marilynn, while studying and they had just celebrated 57 years of marriage. Bob was a dedicated family man who loved to fly fish with his sons and friends, tend to a vegetable garden, listen to classical music, eat good food and research his family background. Bob and Marilyn spent several visits to Prague to visit old family homesteads, relatives and to enjoy the beauty of the country.
In 1977, Bob and his family moved to Boise to begin a new life where Bob worked for Morrison-Knudsen in the best of times. It became their forever home. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father who worked diligently to accomplish any task to which he set his mind, always with that engineering mentality. He was excellent role model of a man.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marilynn, and three sons: Jim (Suzanne Willers), John (Julie Glover), and Matt (Larinda Estes), and eight grandchildren.
We thank all the doctors and staff at St. Alphonsus Hospital who helped guide us through this chapter in our lives.
