Richard Roger Berreth, 77 of Ontario, Oregon passed away into the presence of his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 23, 2023 at home with his wife and son at his side.
Richard was born in Artas, S. Dakota on July 13, 1945 to Alfred Berreth and Alma Heiser Berreth. Richard was the oldest of two sons.When Richard was 8 years old the family moved to Idaho, settling in Caldwell and Boise areas. Richard married Melvena Louise Green on June 28, 1964. The couple would have been married 59 years prior to his death. The couple had two children, Roger Allen and Suzanne Louise.
The family moved to the Payette, Idaho area in 1978 where Richard took over United Upholstery and later changed the name to Mountain View Upholstery. Richard was well known for his upholstery skills on hot rods, boats, RVs and family trucks and cars.
In 2007 the couple retired and went full-time RVing. Visiting 17 states and enjoying the traveling
Richard is survived by his wife, Melvena; his son Roger of Fruitland, ID and children Zachary Berreth (and wife Colby) and Alison Berreth. His daughter Suzanne and husband Aaron Smith of Salem, OR and children Danielle Genovese (and husband Tyler), Jarod Smith and Alexa Smith. A loved nephew, Reggie Russell, Anchorage, AK.
Richard was preceded in death by his dad, Alfred Berreth; his mother, Alma Heiser Berreth; and brother, Ron Berreth.
The family would like to thank all his friends for honoring him today.
