Richard John Seidlitz
May 31, 1962 – MAY 6, 2024
Eagle Idaho
Richard John Seidlitz was born in Richmond California to the parents of William “Bill” Seidlitz and Sylvia “Rae” Davis. He was the youngest of the three “Seidlitz Boys”, Jeff, Mike, and himself. He spent his childhood growing up in El Cerrito California where it is rumored that they are still cleaning up from the “Seidlitz Boys”. He began his school career in St. Jeromes and graduated from El Cerrito High School in 1980. He met his first wife Genice Henderson through his cousin Glen Heffley; they were married in April of 1984. Rich and Genice became parents to two boys, Richard James and Aaron Michael. Genice was tragically killed in an auto accident in December of 1987.
In 1995 Rich and his boys moved to Boise Idaho where he became a foreman for Cloverdale Plumbing and was responsible for a team of workers remodeling the x-ray department at St. Lukes. He met Cindy, an x-ray tech and remarried in July 2002. They became a blended family of seven, three boys, Richard, Aaron and Matthew and two girls, Jocelyn and Alana. As the years passed, grandchildren became the joy of his life. Quentin, Archer, Delanie, Griffin, Landon and Maddox will miss their Grandpa hugely!
Rich worked many jobs over the years. He was a true “jack of all trades”. He enjoyed learning. There was never a job he couldn’t learn and learn well. Over the years he found that meeting people and establishing friendships was his true calling. He was a natural at reaching out and listening.
Rich had three hobbies that he enjoyed his whole life. He was a baseball enthusiast and statistician. He spent hours working with stat books and creating teams. There was rarely a question he couldn’t answer concerning baseball. He was also an artist. He could use pencil, pen, and paint. Often drawing from memory. Road trips were always a favorite of his. When he married Cindy he found his forever partner for road tripping. Many wonderful memories were made. An amazing trip to Japan to witness the marriage of his oldest son, Richard to Luanna was one of his last big adventures!
Rich is survived by his wife Cindy, children, Richard(Luanna), Aaron(Katie), Matthew, Jocelyn(Christopher), Alana(Brodie), his grandchildren, his mother, Sylvia Davis and mother in law Mona Griffin, brothers, Jeff and Mike(Kaycee) and his sister Kathi Croley(Chuck). Also numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, William Seidlitz, his first wife, Genice Henderson and his grandparents, Fred and Irene Seidlitz and Arnold “Brad” and Anita Bradley. Rich’s pride and love of his children and family was everything to him. He was a true romantic when it came to his marriage. He will be forever missed.
Rich wishes to be cremated and celebrated at a later date with “one hell of a party”. As you wish my Love!
