Richard Donald Brown, 86, of Meridian passed away Friday, April 26, 2024 after a brief illness. He was born March 22, 1938 in Acme, Pennsylvania to Lawrence Edward Brown and Mildred H. (Stahl) Brown, the ninth of thirteen children.

He grew up in Pennsylvania and joined the Air Force in October 1955 at age 17. After completing training at Sampson AFB in Geneva, NY, he was assigned to Mountain Home AFB in Idaho as an automotive mechanic.  He was released from active duty in October 1959 and honorably discharged from reserve duty in October 1961.

While stationed at Mountain Home, he met his future bride, Patricia Ferdig of Boise. They were married on May 16, 1959 in Boise. Rich and Pat were blessed with two children, Carol Ann in 1960 and Michael Lee (Mike) in 1963. They celebrated their 64 th wedding anniversary in 2023.

Richard provided for his family working and contracting in the home construction and improvement industry. Together he and Pat made a wonderful family home filled with love.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, many of his siblings, his wife Patricia and their son Mike Brown. He is survived by siblings Jim, Dan and Patty, daughter Carol Sweat (Larry), daughter-in-law, Rose Brown, grandchildren Jennifer Miller (Corey), Michelle Brown (Jacob), Travis Michels (Erin) and Kyler Brown, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
