Reynaldo Lionel Alleyne, 66, of Boise, Idaho, passed away, December 11, 2025, surrounded by love and family. Reynaldo was born on July 27, 1959, in Colón, Panama, to Elmira Alleyne Walton and Gordon Lionel Chesterfield Alleyne.
Reynaldo spent his early years in Colón, Panama, where he lived until the age of 18 before moving to the United States. He attended Adlai Stevenson High School in the Bronx, New York, graduating in 1979. Shortly thereafter, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, completing his training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. His military career as an Air Force Engineer took him to numerous stations around the world, an experience that shaped his disciplined work ethic, global perspective, and deep sense of service.
Following his honorable retirement from the Air Force, Reynaldo continued his commitment to public service through employment with the United States Postal Service. Boise, Idaho ultimately became his longest and most cherished home, where he built lasting friendships and devoted himself fully to his family.
Reynaldo was previously married to Janice Permenter in Idaho. Though the marriage ended following the birth of their second child, the two remained lifelong friends, continuing to support one another and maintain a strong family bond rooted in mutual respect and care.
A devoted father, Reynaldo found his greatest joy in spending time with his children. He was an avid reader, particularly enjoying Tom Clancy novels, and loved cooking meals to share with those he loved. Evenings often found him watching NCIS or Chicago Fire, while weekends were frequently devoted to football—especially cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was well known for his impressive knowledge of college football teams and Major League Baseball statistics, a passion he delighted in sharing.
Reynaldo is survived by his children, Lainey Alleyne, Tarik Alleyne, and Christopher Compton, all of Boise, Idaho; and his siblings, Arturo, Lilia, Nilsa, and Enrique.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmira and Gordon Alleyne, and his siblings Barbara, Ricardo, and Clarence.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on February 11, 2026, at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 W. Carlton Bay Dr., Garden City, Idaho. Interment details will be announced at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boise VA Medical Center, honoring Reynaldo’s lifelong dedication to service and to those who served alongside him.
