Dad loved the Lord. He prayed every night with me as a child, teaching me how to pray and how to love like Jesus. Dad read me Bible stores too, with the different voices, for the different people. Dad loved to make us laugh! He was very loving, caring, and a very sentimental person with a great sense of humor.
Our family loved him so much that Dad’s name (Reed) was used by one of our kids, from each of us siblings, as a grandkids middle name!
Dad was more than a grandpa to his grandchildren who didn’t have fathers present, whether physically and/or emotionally. He was the best father figure any of them could ask for, and they loved him with all of their hearts.
He was always ready with anecdotes from his younger years. From tales of racing across the United States on glare ice; meeting Orville Wright, a friend of his grandmothers, was one highlight of his life. Saving a man’s life that was hanging from his almost severed arm, from a plane; spying on Noriega in Central America; to the kid who always cut in line at the bus stop, until Dad nailed his lunch box to a railroad tie. Dad had a thousand stories, and boy, he knew how to tell them!
There will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends to celebrate his life at
Restored Community Church, 3633 W Floating Feather Rd, Eagle, ID on Saturday, November 11 at 10:00 AM.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
