Raymond William Brain was born on November 3, 1948, to Charles Edwards Brain and Pauline Marie Brain. He passed away on April 5th, 2025, at home surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his father Charle Brain, his Mother Pauline Brain and his wife Sherry Ann Brain, son Forrest William Brain and his sister Connie Brain. He is survived by his brothers Robert and Rick Brain and his children Jeanna Carrico {Rob}, CJ Johnson {Andrew}, Darwood Ashmead and Rosemary Quigley {Ray} as well as 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Ray graduated from Capital High School in 1968. After which he joined the Navy where he served on the USS Midway aircraft carrier in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam war as an Aviation Ordnance Technician. Shortly after coming home, he married Sherry Brain. She had 3 children at the time of their marriage and shortly after they had twins Forrest and Rosemary. He worked in a few upholstery shops in Boise and eventually opened his own in his backyard. He reupholstered furniture and cars. He also enjoyed re-building Studebakers.
He was an avid gardener, loved astronomy, camping and fishing. Ray’s creativity was amazing and endless. He built roll top bread boxes, created furniture out of wood and wicker, enjoyed painting with oil, and sewed clothes for his family and himself. He finished off his career working at Don’s automotive for many years. After Sherry’s death Ray remarried Kathy September 3, 2013, in Newport Oregon on the beach, joined by her 3 daughters Jen Williamson, Becca Pauza and Kimmy Williamson.
He will be greatly missed!
