Raymond Ellsworth Jones, 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. He was born in Holton, Kansas on February 23, 1937 to Leslie and Ethel Jones.  He grew up in New Plymouth and Fruitland, Idaho, where he attended Fruitland High School.  He joined the Air Force in 1956 until July 1959. When he returned, he competed in rodeos around the country as a bull rider and a bareback rider.  He also later worked with the Payette Police Department before he started barber school in 1961 where he met and later married Vicki Jean Camp of Boise, Idaho in 1962.  They were blessed with two daughters, Rita Kathleen in 1968 and Susan Leanne in 1973. He worked for the Ada County Sheriff’s department until he retired from there in 1998. Later in life, to fulfil his love of horses and leather work, he worked at Hap Tallman’s for 15 years. His hobbies included fishing, leather work, wood working, square dancing, watching John Wayne movies and spending time with his family. He was a square dance caller for multiple clubs including Capital Squares, Knots and Squares and in Grandview for many years.  In 2007, his granddaughter, Isabella, was born.  She was the light of his life.  He is proceeded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Roberta Camp, sisters Lucille and Louise, brother Richard, son Michael, grandchildren, Abigail and Ronald Romero.  He is survived by his wife, Vicki of 57 years, daughters, Rita and Susan (David) Romero and granddaughter, Isabella all of Boise and extended family and friends.  The family would like to thank the Veterans Administration, St. Al’s Home Health and Therapy, Trinity Home Health, Dr. Gertjan Mulder, Ada County Paramedics and the Boise Fire Department.  Special thanks to Tiffany, their in-home care giver. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 10 am followed by a lunch reception at Whitney Friends Church at 3102 W. Palouse Street, Boise, Idaho.
