Raul Perez, Sr.

Raul Perez, age 90, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Raul was born on November 24, 1935, in Laredo, Texas, to Fernando Reyes and Maria Perez. He was raised alongside his siblings, Ofelia Solíz, Roberto Reyes, and Ricardo Reyes, all of whom preceded him in death.

In 1964, Raul married the love of his life, Irma Perez. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and love. They shared more than five decades of marriage before Irma passed away in April 2016. Their love and devotion to one another remained an inspiration to those who knew them.

Raul was the proud father of two children, Raul Perez Jr. and Mary Garcia. He was also a devoted grandfather to eight grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to eleven great-grandchildren. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by his family, whose love was the greatest blessing of his life.

Raul enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved spending time fishing, watching baseball, and making memories with those he loved. Whether on the water with a fishing pole or cheering on a baseball game, he found joy in the moments that brought family together. Raul had a passion for cooking and was happiest when preparing delicious meals for those he loved. His amazing food brought family together and created memories that will be treasured forever. He joked around frequently bringing smiles, happiness, and laughter to everybody around him.

Above all, Raul will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irma Perez.

He is survived by his son, Raul Perez Jr. and wife, Angela Perez; his daughter, Mary Garcia and husband, Ramon Garcia; his eight grandchildren; his eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Raul’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and family. While he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on through the generations who were blessed to know him. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with the love of his life.
