Rand loved gardening, and spending time enjoying the Idaho outdoors. He was also an avid sports fan. Rand loved the NFL, especially the Raiders. Sundays in the fall, meant he would be watching NFL Red Zone and updating his weekly pick sheet.
Rand, like his father, was a freemason.

He has twelve grandchildren: Bonita (Manny), Spencer, Stockton (Emma), Amber, Ella (Skyler), McKay, Christopher, Jackson, Madison, Harrison, McKinley, and Carter.
