Her joyful spirit was further expressed through her fondness for bright colors and sparkling jewelry, often adorning herself in bedazzled shirts that reflected her lively character. She cherished seafood, particularly a good piece of catfish,or dungeness crab, and found immense pleasure in going to the movies and sharing dinners with Gary.

A loving mother, she is survived by her three children: Barbara Ellen Hatfield, Susan Elizabeth Hohstadt-Voermans, and Steven Phillip Hohstadt, along with their partners, Robert Ladd Voermans and Jo Ann Lillian Hohstadt. Phyllis was a proud grandmother to Calvin James Hatfield, Mikki Pike Hatfield, Spencer Dallas Russell, Erika Jean Russell, and great-grandmother to Kolby Elaine Hatfield.

Phyllis had a soft heart for animals and supported various charities, dedicating her efforts to make the world a better place. Her love for music was evident in her favorite artists, which included Barbra Streisand, ABBA, Queen, and Barry Manilow, as well as her appreciation for musicals.

One of her favorite places in the world was the Oregon Coast, where Gary and Phyllis loved to go crabbing and she found peace and happiness. Phyllis’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her for her warmth, generosity, and the sparkle she brought into their lives.
