Philip “Flip” Brent Lundy passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior on January 2, 2026, at home, surrounded by those he loved. He now rests in eternal peace, reunited with his faith and rewarded for a life lived with service, loyalty, and love.
Flip’s final resting place will be Arlington National Cemetery, a fitting and profound honor that reflects both his devoted military service and his lifelong commitment to family, country, and God.
Above all else, Flip was a family man. His love for his family, immediate and extended, was deep, constant, and unmistakable. Time spent together was his greatest joy, and his presence brought warmth to every gathering. Known for his quick wit, smart-hearted humor, and playful sarcasm, Flip could effortlessly fill a room with laughter. It was never surprising to hear him break into song, reminding everyone that joy was meant to be shared. His love was steady, loyal, and unwavering. A foundation his family will carry forward.
Born and raised in Parma, Idaho, and later residing in Nampa, Flip lived a life rich in music, friendship, sports and the outdoors.
He was naturally athletic and loved sports throughout his life, playing basketball, baseball, swimming, and softball, and he especially enjoyed tennis. A passionate sports fan, Flip was also the biggest Boise State University Broncos football supporter, proudly cheering them on with enthusiasm and loyalty that matched his larger-than-life spirit. Music was woven into his soul, whether singing, playing the guitar, or sounding the trumpet and he generously shared that gift with those around him. Fishing was his favorite pastime, followed closely by motorcycle rides with friends, camping under Idaho skies or enjoying the sound of the ocean waves at the Oregon coast. He loved the outdoors and had a rare gift for navigating backroads, discovering hidden fishing holes, and finding secluded hot springs, knowing Idaho’s wild beauty like few others.
Flip retired after a long and respected career driving freight for Action Express/Saia, where he formed lifelong friendships with coworkers and clients alike. His strong work ethic, dependability, and good humor left a lasting impression on all who worked alongside him.
A deeply proud military man, Flip served honorably in the United States Army, including the Honor Guard and the Old Fife and Drum Corps. Through his service, he participated in numerous high-profile events, including President Nixon’s inauguration parade, NFL games, and the Kentucky Derby. These experiences were carried with quiet pride, humility, and honor all hallmarks of his character.
Flip is survived by his brother, his wife, his nine children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of his legacy forward.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Rest in peace, Philip Brent Lundy. You will be missed more than words can ever say.
